SHORT PROFILE OF PROF. SARPONG

Professor of Financial Science, Forster Kum-Ankama Sarpong is a Real Estate developer for over 20 years. Recently his company constructed and implemented a 34-villa gated community in East Legon, Accra and the Fasthouse (UK) building technology in Ghana respectively. He worked previously with the Lands Commission Secretariat (1991/1992) and Inusah & Co-Valuation firm (1992/1993), and was thus involved in a number of valuations and compensation assessments, such as the resettlement of occupants of the land compulsorily acquired by the Ghana Government for the construction of the Kanda Highway, Accra.

Currently, Finance Lead of the National Policy Peer Review Group of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana. Also, he provides academic, professional and leadership mentorship to a variety of proteges. He has held varying leadership positions both locally and internationally in diverse business portfolios. Some of which include CEO, Chairman or Member of Board of Directors of various companies and institutions. He is one of the board of directors of Ghana Water Company Limited. He chairs the boards of both Tradezone International Foods and the Ghana branch of China-Arab & Africa Business Union.

He is a Member of Irish University Business School (UK)’s University Council. He is a Specialized Project Manager & Companion of the Institute of Management Specialists (UK). A Fellow of the Chartered Economists (Ghana) and also Fellow of Chartered Financial Managers (USA). Member of Chartered Institute of Bankers as well as a Member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (CASS), from Ghana Communications Technology University (2019) and also a Doctorate in Financial Management from the Institute of Professional Financial Managers, UK (2015). A Master of Business Administration ( Finance ), University of Ghana, Legon (2004) and a Bachelor of Science in Land Economy, KNUST Ghana (1991).
