The service of local and international volunteers is direly
needed at the remote villages in Ghana.
SZI has work camps,
cultural and tourism sites across the country where it
places volunteers for work, cultural exchange and tourism.
The following categories of work placement are currently
available: Agriculture, Education, Environment,
Orphanage,
Construction and Media.
WORKING with SZI
Agriculture
This include teaching the small scale farmers,
livestock and fishermen, proper and modern methods of
farming e.g. irrigation, use of tractor and harvesting and
management of post harvest loses.
Education
This includes teaching at the pre-school,
primary, junior secondary and secondary schools in the
volunteer’s geographical area of choice. Subject areas are
English language, Mathematics, Religious and Moral
Education, Science, Economics, Literature, Government,
Visual arts, Accounting, Costing, Management, Block-laying
and Concreting, Electrical and Automobile engineering,
Electronics, Painting and Decoration, Draughtsmanship,
Surveying, Carpentry and Joinery, etc.
Environment
This includes planting trees on highways and at
the lower Volta river basin, sanitation and waste
management, curbing erosion at households, farmlands and
community roads etc.
Orphanage
This include working with and caring for children
in designated orphanages across the country.
Construction
This includes Draughtsmanship, Surveying, Block-laying and Concreting, Electrical engineering, Painting
and Decoration, Carpentry and Joinery, etc at schools,
communities and SZI projects.
Media
This includes placement in the print or electronic
media houses of the volunteer’s choice.
Working with SZI
This includes working at the
administrative level at the head office and project offices
of SZI.

The fees covers airport pick up, accommodation,
administration, feeding and excursions.
